With regard to Samuel Baboo, decensed, all moneys

received nave been properly applied; and with regard to Jhinda

Singh no sum of money has been received by me.

I have been clearly told and realize that in so

handing to you these moneys, I do not in any way alter the nature

of their possession by me, and that it still leaves open the

question whether these moneys, which I have held in pursuance of

a practice long sanctioned in the Department, are in fact the moneys of the Government.

I am etc..
